Hello love birds, I'm Victoria
I didn't set out to become a wedding photographer. I fell into it the way most love stories start, unplanned, a little messy and completely worth it. Based in Dallas, I'm the photographer behind Velvet Dove Visuals, shooting weddings and elopements across DFW, New Orleans and pretty much anywhere love takes me. I'm the one who cries a little during the vows, who notices the way your hands find each other without thinking and who will absolutely make you laugh mid-portrait so the photos never feel stiff.
My style is documentary at heart with a nostalgic, filmic soul. I'm not chasing trends or perfectly staged moments, I want the real ones: the messy bun coming loose by golden hour, the inside joke between you and your partner, the way your grandmother looks at you right before you walk down the aisle. Those are the moments that actually mean something years from now. At the end of the day, I don't just want to document your wedding, I want to hand you back a piece of what it actually felt like to be there.

I'm chill, laid back and never the photographer making you perform for the camera. I'd rather let moments unfold naturally than force a pose that feels stiff. My approach is simple: go with the flow. When you're relaxed, the photos are honest, and that's what I care about most. No pressure, no scripts, just you being yourselves in front of my lens.
About My Personality
Why Velvet Dove Visuals?
The name is personal to me. Velvet is one of my favorite materials, soft and rich, much like the way I want your photos to feel. Burgundy and wine are my favorite colors, deep and romantic. And the mourning dove has always felt symbolic to me, quiet and gentle. Together, they became a name that feels true to who I am.
When I'm not shooting, you'll find me listening to music, Joji, jazz, alternative, whatever fits the mood. I collect vinyls, film cameras and mugs, small pieces that tell their own stories. I'm also endlessly curious about science and space, always learning something new. These are the little things that shape how I see the world, and how I shoot it too.
Outside of Photography
I believe the best photos happen when you're not trying to look a certain way. I create space for real moments instead of forced poses, because genuine emotion always photographs better than a perfect smile on command.

My goal isn't a flawless, staged gallery. It's capturing you as you actually are on one of the most important days of your life, so when you look back, it feels like being there again, not like a performance.
I want to know your story before I ever pick up my camera. When there's trust and comfort between us, it shows in the photos. You're not just a client to me, you're a couple I genuinely care about capturing well.
